In the summer, when the Mayflies circle above our heads, the light shines through their wings to create a delicate blaze of structure and color. Inspired by the beauty of nature, the Mayfly shawl is knit from the top down using short rows. The pattern is designed to be knit in two complementary or contrasting colors. However, for a motivated stash buster, the color options on this shawl are endless, because every stripe could be knit in a new color.

Plucky Knitter Bello (55% Merino & 45% Cashmere / 105g skein) or other fingering weight yarn:

NEEDLES : 
2 sets of US 6 (4mm) of 32-inch (80 cm) circular needles (NOTE: If you do not own 2 pairs of US 6 (4mm) 32-inch (80) needles, you can use a piece of scrap yarn or a second set of smaller needles to hold stitches.)

20 stitches & 48 rows = 4 inches in GARTER stitch
