Equity & Inclusion Statement
I am a white cisgendered woman
Here are the actions I will take in my commitment to Anti-Racism and Inclusivity both through my small business and in my personal life:
I will ask collaborators about their Anti-Racism and Inclusivity policies.
I will support BIPOC-owned businesses through both business and personal purchases.
I will examine and edit the content and language I share, keeping in mind how they may reinforce harmful cultural norms.
I will speak out in my personal relationships.
I will actively seek out educational opportunities to help me make more inclusive and supportive decisions and actions.
As I examine my own privilege and biases, I recognize that I will make mistakes. I will hold myself accountable.
When designing adult garments, I will grade patterns to fit a range of sizes from 30-60” / 75-150 cm chest.
When designing adult garments, I will include options for modifying the pattern to create a more personal and accessible fit.
I welcome all knitters and makers to my online spaces and in-person events, regardless of regardless of race, color, age, ethnic or cultural background, level of income, size, religion, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, or physical abilities.
I welcome feedback and critique with an open mind and open heart, and work to do better.
This list will change as I continue to learn. Although this is a list of actions, it is not a checklist. I recognize that the work of Anti-Racism and Inclusivity is lifelong journey, and that journey will evolve only if I continue to educate myself and take action.
